Nova Scotia Youth Experiences in Science is dedicated to inspiring young Nova Scotians to experience science in their lives and to celebrate their discoveries.

In 2008, 40 students from all ten regions participated in the Canada-Wide Science Fair, held in Ottawa, taking home 16 medals (the largest number ever for Nova Scotia!) including two Gold medals, many honourable mentions, and thousands of dollars in prizes.

Hands-on science projects are a great way to show students how fun science can be. This is the reason why NS YES! (Nova Scotia Youth Experiences in Science) teamed up with EnCana to create 'Preparing for Science Fairs', an inspirational DVD for teachers and students about science projects.

Science Is My Business

"Science Is My Business" is an initiative designed to make the connection between science and everyday life at work. Science in the workplace is not limited to working in a university lab or space exploration with NASA. Science is in our pharmacies, our factories, our parks, and our concert halls.
