Nova Scotia is sending 40 participants, it's largest-ever delegation to the Canada-Wide Science Fair in May. This is also the first time students from Conseil scolaire acadien provincial and the M i'kmaq First Nations schools will complete at a national level.

'We are proud to celebrate the achievements of these outstanding students. They are all examples of how hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm for learning can be rewarding,' said Cliff Coveyduc, program director of Nova Scotia Youth Experiences in Science, the provincial umbrella organization for science fairs. 'We wish these young ambassadors the best of luck as they represent Nova Scotia at this national event.'

The showcase kicks off Friday, April 28 at 1 p.m. with opening remarks from Mr. Coveyduc, Dr. Patrick Ryall from Dalhousie University's Faculty of Science, and Dr. Alan Lowe from the Department of Education. Mr. Lee Bragg, co-CEO of EastLink, will deliver the keynote address at 1:30 p.m.

The community is invited to meet the participants and tour the projects from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. The McInnes Room is located on the second floor of the Student Union Building at 6136 University Avenue.

Team Nova Scotia Showcase brings together all students headed to the national science fair for an open house exhibit. The students will participate in a variety of educational, social and cultural activities geared to build team spirit and give them exposure to the scientific community.
