New Project Display System

Youth Science Canada has announced the new Canada-Wide Science Fair project display system that will make its debut at the 2013 CWSF in Lethbridge Alberta. This means that all CWSF finalists will be required to use the new standard commercial project display. Good news is that from now on CWSF finalists will only need to bring their display materials – no more shipping fees, extra luggage charges, and no more backboard safety check issues.

Nova Scotia Students Strike Gold at National Science Fair

Nova Scotia’s up-and-coming scientists came away with three gold, one silver and fifteen bronze medals from the National Science Fair in Charlottetown, PEI on May 17, 2012. Team Nova Scotia joined nearly 500 of their peers from across the county for the eight-day competition. These top science students will soon be returning to class after collecting prizes and scholarships valued at more than $65,000 from the Canada-Wide Science Fair for their scientific pursuits.

Each year, more than 10,000 grades 7 through 12 students in Nova Scotia participate in school-based science fairs, with more than 1,000 students moving on to participate in a regional science fair. Of these students only 40 are selected to represent Nova Scotia at the Canada-Wide Science Fair, a prestigious national event that attracts over 450 of Canada’s top young scientists each year.
